Kingswood Oxford is seeking a part-time middle school orchestra teacher who is passionate, innovative, and collaborative – an educator who models a growth mindset and is committed to equity-focused pedagogy. Candidates should also understand the importance of involvement in the community, student engagement, empowerment, and authentic collaboration with other faculty and staff to advance the school’s mission and strategic vision.

Successful candidates will be:
? Collaborative: works well with others, pitches in, and pushes others in their practice.

? Willing to create relationships with kids, and enjoys being around middle school students, sees their potential, works to understand how they operate.

? Curious: about their subject, students, the world, teaching, and learning; also approaches new ideas with openness rather than judgment.

? Self-aware and clear about how they “set the weather” in the classroom. Engages in the continuous practice of self-knowledge to create equitable/inclusive learning communities.

? Working knowledge of string pedagogy.
