School Information:

Founded in 1863 by the Hawaiian royal family, ‘Iolani School is the largest Episcopal School in the US and the only school in Hawaii ranked in the top 50 nationally. Located on 30 acres just off Waikiki, the school matriculates approximately 2,100 students, K-12, and has roughly 400 faculty and staff. ‘Iolani reinstated its boarding program in 2018 after a 60-year absence with the goal of creating an on-campus international community to enrich the Upper School experience for all students. Since its founding year, it has grown to approximately 90 students, a 10% addition to each high school grade level, and includes students from more than 15 countries around the world.

 

‘Iolani School seeks a full-time, 12-month Associate Director of Residential Admission.  This position will report to the Dean of Residential Programs and play a vital role in the school community by furthering the growth and integration of the boarding program by supporting the enrollment of mission-appropriate students who can thrive at ‘Iolani School.

 

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Manage the enrollment process from inquiry to enrollment for all residential applicants
  • Conduct applicant interviews and manage family visits to campus
  • Travel internationally and domestically to recruit residential students
  • Plan and run admission events on neighbor islands, the continental US and internationally and set metrics to assess outcomes
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with educational consultants in current and emerging markets
  • Research and execute strategies to continue to market residential program worldwide
  • Collaborate with communications office on the development of marketing materials, including videos, viewbooks, and the school website
  • Serve as a member of the Residential Admission Committee
  • Support international students as a DSO for SEVIS
  • Support Residential Life with the onboarding of new students and be a present and active member of the ‘Iolani community and Residential Life Program
  • Advise an ‘Ohana Group (advisory) of 3-5 residential students
  • Assist and perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Residential Programs

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

 

Experience & Skills:

  • Experience at an independent boarding school
  • Focused and energetic; have strong time management and organizational skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Passionate about working with and inspiring students from around the world
  • Candidates should be able to assume a multifaceted role, multitask in a fast-paced work

environment with multiple priorities and frequent deadlines, and maintain a high level of energy and strong initiative

  • Able to establish and maintain collegial relationships among all school constituents 

 

Salary is dependent on education and experience with the opportunity for on-campus housing.
