Digital Communications Specialist

Newton Country Day School seeks a Digital Communications Specialist for its busy Communications Office. This is a full-time, in-person 12-month position available immediately. The Digital Communications Specialist uses multimedia tools and writing to be the chief storyteller for the school through its website, social media, and various publications.

Responsibilities:

• Create compelling visual content that promotes the school to its various constituents
• Document both daily life and special events at the school through video and photography
• Write long and short articles for school magazine, other publications, and website
• Help maintain and update the school website
• Assist with digital marketing and social media strategy and execution
• Manage additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Communications

Additional duties:

• Assist at school events, such as Homecoming, Reunion, Auction, and Graduation
• Some evening and weekend events will be required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• 2 or more years in content creation
• Experience with videography and photography
• Strong writing and proofreading ability
• Organized, with strong project management skills
• Experience and comfort with web-based communications and digital media, including content management systems and web-based email tools
• Commitment to contributing to an inclusive environment
• Comfortable interacting with students, faculty, parents and alumnae
• Experience in digital advertising and social media channels a plus
• Experience in an educational setting is a plus
